Hiroyuki Nakajima had dinner with Daisuke Matsuzaka Friday night and told the former Lion that he was going to hit the ball hard against Masanori Ishikawa (YOK). Nakajima ended up hitting a 2-run homer off Ishikawa on Saturday and Matuzaka followed up with an e-mail to Nakajima that read, "You are amazing."
Tatsuya Oishi threw to a squatting catcher for the first time since he started feeling pain in his right shoulder last month. Oishi threw a total 38 pitches. The Lions are hopeful Oishi will be in pitching form by mid-June.
