Matsumoto isn’t on the active roster right now.

According to an Asahi.com article (dated 5/10) [ http://mytown.asahi.com/yamanashi/news.php?k_id=20000861105090001 ], Matsumoto is at Ni-gun in order to get more seasoning and to build more muscle mass (Tatsunori Hara felt Matsumoto wasn’t able to make solid contact with the ball because he wasn’t strong enough).

The article also mentions that Hisayoshi Chono more or less beat out Matsumoto for a spot on the active roster.

Matsumoto isn’t exactly tearing the cover off the ball at Ni-gun (18-for-77, .234 / .306 / .260) so my guess would be no, unless there’s another injury to an outfielder.

As it is, they’re already carrying 6 outfielders: Ramirez, Chono, Tani, Suzuki, Konta, and Yano.
