Nippon Ham Fighters

Yuki Saito started a Ni-gun game against Yokohama today and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits over 2 innings of work.  Saito tossed a total 29 pitches and topped out at 144km/h.

1st inning - double, ground out to first, RBI ground out to second, fly out to right

2nd inning - strikeout swinging, ground out to second, solo homer to right, fly out to center.

Eiichi Koyano has already started taking BP off live pitching and, as of yesterday, was scheduled to start taking fielding practice today.  Assuming no setbacks, it's possible he could be used as a pinch-hitter as early as next week (his left hamstring injury is at a point where it isn't hindering his hitting).

Mamoru Kishida (tightness in left lower back) was available to pitch again on Friday after he was given the day off on the 1st.  Kishida told reporters he originally started feeling pain in his lower back around May 10th (which was his birthday) and had difficulty throwing the ball with authority.

Rakuten Eagles

Manabu Mima tweaked his right flank during a relief outing last night against the Yomiuri Giants and left after facing only 2 batters.  The team will decide on what step to take next after seeing how he's doing today.
