According to Nikkan Sports, Daisuke Matsuzaka's TJ surgery is scheduled for the 10th; he arrived in Los Angeles on the 7th.

And an interesting article on Matsuzaka written by MLB.com's Peter Gammons:

We don't know Daisuke Matsuzaka. Not teammates, not coaches nor front-office folks, not media, no one. He wouldn't let anyone in.

He was labeled as being stubborn or being a diva, but no one knows for certain. Or may ever know. He will soon have Tommy John surgery in Los Angeles by Dr. Lewis Yocum, and if the normal recovery pattern is followed, his 15 months will be up in September of next year, too late for any pennant race, weeks from the end of the contract he signed with the Red Sox in the winter of 2006-07.
