Naoto Tsuru started a Ni-gun game against Chunichi today and gave up 6 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits over 5 innings of work (he pitched into the 6th). Tsuru had allowed just 1 run over the first 5 innings of the game and then gave up 4 hits and a walk in the 6th.
Michihiro Ogasawara should be back in the starting line-up tomorrow at first base, batting third.
Yoshiyuki Kamei went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base during a Ni-gun game against Yokohama today. He was the starting third baseman and batted 2nd. Yoshinobu Takahashi also played in the game and went 0-for-2 (strikeout, fly out to left); he started in right and batted 9th. Both players were removed from the game after 5 innings.
The following personnel changes were approved during a stockholder's meeting today: Takuo Takihana steps down as owner; Tsunekazu Momoi becomes president / owner; and Hidetoshi Kiyotake becomes executive managing director / general manager. The moves are all effective as of today.
The Swallows will be hosting Swallows Family Day on 6/18 and 6/19. They'll also be hosting Revecy White Presents Yukata Day on 6/25 as part of their Ladies Day 2011 project.
The Carp held full practices at Mazda Stadium today. Takahiro Iwamoto and Yoshiyuki Ishihara both took extra rounds of BP. They don't have a game tomorrow and will hold practices at Mazda Stadium tomorrow before traveling to Saitama for a 2-game series against the Seibu Lions that begins on Thursday.
