Nobuhiro Matsuda was back with the team today after getting the day off yesterday because he wasn't feeling well.
The Hawks kicked off their Hawks Clean Up project today with a pre-game press conference that Tsuyoshi Wada appeared in.
Yusei Kikuchi could get an Ichi-gun start sometime soon. Tomorrow's game against the Hanshin Tigers is a possibility, but based on the current rotation, Takayuki Kishi is scheduled for that start. But the Lions might give Kikuchi a shot at the start since it's the only home game they have over the next week (they have two against Yakult at Jingu Stadium and two against Yomiuri at Tokyo Dome).
Nippon Ham Fighters
Yuki Saito threw 39 pitches in the bullpen today in preparation for his rehab start tomorrow.
Yu Darvish will likely start the Fighters' first game after Inter-league play ends (6/24 vs Softbank at Yahoo Dome).
Hisashi Iwakuma is still aiming to return to the active roster before the end of the month. He'll likely toss a bullpen session within the next few days and then pitch in a Ni-gun game on either the 18th or 19th (both vs Seibu). If all is well, he could return to the active roster just in time for the team's 10-game stretch (6/24 - 7/3).
Darrell Rasner is also making good progress and could pitch in a rehab game soon.
Senichi Hoshino will be getting his own fan club (koenkai). A start-up ceremony is scheduled for today.
