Hanshin Tigers

Matt Murton hit his 3rd lead-off homer of the season last night and now has 5 with the Tigers.  That breaks the foreign player franchise record of 4 set by Mike Solomko (1960 - 1963).

Murton also managed to raise his batting average above .300 (57-for-187) with a 3-for-4 game.  That gives Murton 6 multi-hit games this month.

Yasutomo Kubo (left oblique strain) recently added workouts in the pool to his training.  He's scheduled to add trunk strengthening exercises today.

Daiki Kiyohara started a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima on Saturday and tossed 5 shutout innings; he also allowed 2 hits and walked none.

Yomiuri Giants

Hayato Sakamoto batted 2nd last night for the first time since 5/31/2008 (vs Softbank).

Yoshiyuki Kamei and Yoshinobu Takahashi each chipped in on offense last night: Kamei started the game off with a lead-off homer that gave the team a 1-0 lead; and Takahashi hit an RBI single to right in the top of the 6th that gave the team some breathing room with a 4-2 lead.

Yakult Swallows

Yoshinori Sato started his rehab training yesterday at Ni-gun Toda.
