PL News and Notes: Takahiro Okada (ORI) should be back in the starting line-up tomorrow

Softbank Hawks

D.J. Houlton will probably start Thursday's game against the Chunichi Dragons (Nagoya Dome).

Nippon Ham Fighters

Masataka Nashida is apparently happy with Yuki Saito's progress at Ni-gun and is planning on adding him back to the active roster at some point after Inter-league play ends (likely in time for a start on the 29th vs Lotte).

Said Nashida, "He lost a fair amount of weight.  I'm thinking of using him again once Inter-league play ends."

Eiichi Koyano (left hamstring) was added to the active roster today.  Since he still isn't quite 100%, Nashida plans on using him off the bench as a pinch-hitter.

The Fighters announced that they'll be releasing a CD full of a player intro songs (20 tracks).  The CD will hit store shelves on 7/12 for 2,500 yen.

Orix Buffaloes

Takahiro Okada was left out of the starting line-up today because he wasn't 100% (he hurt his knee during a game against the Yakult Swallows on the 9th) and because the Yokohama Bay Stars were starting a lefty.  Okada did, however, make it into the game as a pinch-hitter in the 9th (strikeout swinging).  Akinobu Okada told reporters that Okada would be back in starting line-up (at first) tomorrow.

Seung-Yeop Lee's streak of striking out in 7 straight at bats ended when he entered tonight's game as a pinch-hitter in the 6th and grounded out to second.

FYI: the PL record of 9 was set by Teppei (RAK) in 2006.
