6/16/2011: Ichiro Suzuki records 400th MLB stolen base

Seattle Mariners 3 - LA Angels 1
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-4: double to left (steals third), ground out to second, double to right, intentional walk (steals second, run scored), ground out to short.  Ichiro's stolen base in the 3rd inning was his 400th in the MLB; his stolen base in the 7th was his 600th in his MLB + NPB career (401 + 199).

Oakland A's 2 - Kansas City 1
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted third.  He went 0-for-1: walk, walk, fly out to right.  Matsui's consecutive games with an RBI streak ended at 5.

Milwaukee Brewers 9 - Chicago Cubs 5
Kosuke Fukudome entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the 8th and grounded out to second.  Fukudome remained in the game and took over in right in the top of the 9th.  He also had one more at bat in the bottom of the 9th and struck out looking.


Round Rock Express 4 - Nashville Sounds 3
Takashi Saito entered the game in the top of the 8th and retired the side in order. Final line: 1 IP, 3 BF, 17-12 NP-S, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO, 0 HR.


Hiroki Kuroda threw 36 pitches in the bullpen on the 15th in preparation for his next start on the 19th (vs Houston).


The latest on Tsuyoshi Nishioka, from CBS Sports' Eye on Baseball:

Tsuyoshi Nishioka, out since April 7 after suffering a broken fibula, returns to the Twins tonight [6/15], taking the roster slot of Justin Morneau, who was put on the DL with a wrist injury.

Nikkan Sports mentions that Nishioka will likely return to the starting line-up, at short, on the 16th.
