Softbank Hawks

As long as the Hawks don't get swept by the Yokohama Bay Stars, they'll finish with a winning record against all 6 CL teams.  As of now: 3-1 vs Chunichi; 3-1 vs Hanshin; 4-0 vs Yomiuri; 2-1-1 vs Yakult; 3-0-1 vs Hiroshima; and 2-0 vs Yokohama.

Seibu Lions

Hideaki Wakui will probably start Saturday's game against the Yomiuri Giants (Tokyo Dome); and Kazuhisa Makita will probably get Sunday's start.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Sho Nakata worked out at Athelete (a gym in Hiroshima) on his day off yesterday.  He also had his hair shaved down.

Yesterday was a travel day for the Fighters.  They'll begin a 2-game series against the Hiroshima Carp on Saturday (last series during Inter-league play).

Yuki Saito has apparently managed to lose 4kg (from 77kg to 73kg).  Said Saito, "It isn't good to get stressed out over food so I eat things I like. ... I started losing weight while I was at Ichi-gun. ... This is the best shape I've been in since turning pro."

The Fighters would also like to see Saito throw around 100 pitches during his next rehab Ni-gun start on the 21st (vs Yomiuri at Kamagaya).

Orix Buffaloes

Nagoya Dome is the only domed stadium in which Takahiro Okada hasn't homered in yet.

Rakuten Eagles

With their loss last night to the Hiroshima Carp, the Eagles are now guaranteed a losing record during Inter-league play.

Senichi Hoshino wasn't too happy with Kelvin Jimenez's decision to run out and try to tag Yoshiyuki Ishihara in the 6th inning with Soichiro Amaya at third.  Especially since it allowed Amaya to score.
