Kenichi Nakata will be available to pitch out of the bullpen on both Saturday and Sunday.
Tomoaki Kanemoto took 12 fly balls out in left during fielding practice yesterday. He was also seen hitting line drives during BP. His right foot appears to be fully healed.
Kyuji Fujikawa told reporters yesterday that he's been holding back on the mound a little because of how important each of his outings have been (he can't afford to make mistakes).
Kenji Jojima added jogging to his workouts at Naruohama yesterday -- he spent about 30 minutes running in the outfield. Team trainer Yasunori Gonda told reporters Jojima wouldn't be running every day, but maybe once every 2-3 days. He still isn't allowed to any throwing.
Head coach Kaoru Okazaki told the other coaches to give players as much advice as possible. All part of a move to open up the lines of communication with the players more during the team's slump.
Yokohama Bay Stars
The Bay Stars held a board of director's meeting at their offices yesterday. Owner Kiyoshi Wakabayashi also took part in the meeting and said that he felt the Bay Stars could add a little more strategy to their games. He also said he wanted to see the team to give Seiichi Uchikawa a hard time and beat the Softbank Hawks.
