Chunichi Dragons

Tony Blanco told reporters that he got an MRI on his right middle finger yesterday and that while it was feeling better little by little, he still had no idea how long it would take him to fully recover.  It seems there's also a chance he may have suffered a fracture.

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers held full-squad practices at Koshien today.  During situational BP they had runners working on their base-running skills (like leading off and when to take the first step).

Ken Nishimura was taken off the active roster despite a decent showing during situation BP today -- he faced 9 batters and allowed 1 could be hit.  Pitching coach Takashi Yamaguchi told reporters it was because he wasn't getting enough opportunities to pitch.

===

Tatsuya Kojima started a Ni-gun game against Chunichi today and gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits over 5 innings of work.

Craig Brazell and Jason Standridge presented JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Hyogo with autographed posters and caps as a sign of their gratitude for providing emergency supplies to tornado victims in Alabama (in the form of blankets and plastic sheets).  The posters and caps are currently on display at the JICA offices in Hyogo.

Yomiuri Giants

Shun Tono threw 44 pitches in the bullpen today at Giants Stadium -- prep work for his start against the Hanshin Tigers on the 24th.

Yakult Swallows

Kazuki Fukuchi got an MRI on his left shoulder (dislocation) yesterday and was told he would require 6-8 weeks for a full recovery.  The Swallows figure it'll take around 2 months before he's playing again.

Hiroshima Carp

Kyohei Nakamura worked out with the Ichi-gun club for about 3 hours today (infield drills, bullpen).  Nakamura could make his debut on the 26th against Chunichi.
