Softbank Hawks

With Hitoshi Tamura nursing an injury and Seiichi Uchimura not quite 100% (and therefore relegated to left), Koji Akiyama told reporters that he'll go with the hot hand in right.  Potential candidates include Shuhei Fukuda or Yuki Yanagita.

The players complained that their intro music was being played too softly.

The Hawks plan on splitting their Inter-league winnings 50/50 with the players (25M yen to the team and 25M yen to the players).  The team will use the money to help make improvements while the players will split the money up amongst themselves and various staff.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Dai-Kang Yang (Yoh) may be the first in line to replace Kensuke Tanaka's lead-off spot in the batting order.  Yoshio Itoi is another option (from the left side).

Masataka Nashida told reporters yesterday that Yuki Saito will be starting the Lotte game on the 29th.

Sankei Sports interviewed Sho Nakata yesterday and found that he likes to relax by taking baths on going on drives (he loves cars and driving).  He also said he was satisfied with his current season and that he thought it was best for pro players to get married and build a family as soon as possible because it made them more responsible.

Orix Buffaloes

Akinobu Okada may be leaning towards making Kazuki Kondo his 5th starter.  He still doesn't seem to know whom to select as the 6th starter.

Rakuten Eagles

Senichi Hoshino told reporters yesterday that he put in a request with the club to make it easier for players to participate in both Ni-gun and Ichi-gun games on the same day by scheduling more Ni-gun home games in Miyagi instead of Yamagata (particularly on days when the Ni-gun team is playing a day game and the Ichi-gun team is playing a night game at Kleenex Stadium) next season.

Said Hoshino, "It's important to keep the fans happy.  But before that can be done, you need to strengthen the team first."
