Radiation limits set during Fukushima Tournament steering committee meeting

by on Jun.23, 2011 @ 7:49 pm, under High School

Fukushima Tournament steering committee held a meeting today in Fukushima to finalize the radiation rules they'll be implementing during the tournament.  They will be as follows:

  • Radiation levels will be checked at five different locations in each stadium every morning.  If measurements indicate that radiations levels are above 3.8 microsieverts for a particular stadium, games for that day, at that stadium, will be canceled.
  • If there is a mid-game rain delay and the rain stops, radiation levels will be measured before play can resume.  If the levels are too high, the game can either be canceled or called.
  • During rainy weather, players that work on maintaining the field will be required to wear rubber gloves.
