Chunichi Dragons

Yudai Ono started an Inter-league game against Industrial League team jProject today and gave up 4 runs on 2 hits over 2 innings of work; he also struck out 1, walked 2, and topped out at 146km/h.  This was Ono's first outing since joining the club (he's been working his way back from left shoulder problems).

Hanshin Tigers

Naoto Tsuru joined the Ichi-gun roster for practice today.  He will probably get Wednesday's (6/29) start against the Hiroshima Carp.

Yasutomo Kubo started long distance (around 80 meters) throwing today.  Said Kubo, "My right shoulder felt a little tight because I threw a little too hard while playing catch yesterday, so I gave [long distance throwing] to help [loosen things up]. ... Everything is good so far.  The next thing I have to do is try throwing from an incline."

Takumi Akiyama started Ni-gun game against Orix today and gave up a run on 4 hits over 5 innings of work.

The Ni-gun Tigers held a baseball clinic (about an hour) after their game in Himeji against Orix today.  20 teams from Himeji (a total 170 kids) attended the clinic.

Yomiuri Giants

Hayato Sakamoto has committed three costly errors in the last two games.

Yakult Swallows

Josh Whitesell was removed from today's game after he twisted his left ankle (sprain) while making a play on a bunt in the 5th inning.  The team will wait to make any decisions on Whitesell until they see how he's doing tomorrow.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Shogo Yamamoto may have finally worn out his welcome as a pitcher in the starting rotation after losing his 7th straight decision today and dropping to 2-9 on the year.

Shigeru Kaga was taken off the active roster today with stiffness in his right shoulder.
