Two drunk fans ran onto the field last night and it took more than 5 security guards to chase them down.

Tomoaki Kanemoto recorded his 419th career double last night (8th inning of Hiroshima Carp Bryan Bullington) and moved passed Shigeo Nagashima for sole possession of 6th on the All-time list.

===

Naoto Tsuru had a decent outing last night, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings of work.  But it seems it wasn't good -- when reporters asked Akinobu Mayumi if the performance warranted another start, Mayumi said he'd have to think about it.

Hiroyuki Kobayashi was allowed to return to Osaka yesterday.  The team is hopefully Kobayashi will be 100% for their 3-game series against the Yokohama Bay Stars (set to start on 7/1).

===

Shunsuke was demoted to Ni-gun yesterday due to his struggles at the plate (he had a slash line of .188/.188/.188 so far this month).  Seems they also want him to brush up on his other skills as well.

===

Yasutomo Kubo tossed a bullpen session yesterday for the first time since his injury -- he first threw 15 pitches to a standing catcher and then another 45 to a squatting catcher.  Kubo will now throw bullpen sessions every other day and could see an outing during BP some time next week.

===

GM Shoji Numasawa told reporters the team had no plans of hiring someone new to replace the recently deceased Chosuke Watanabe.  Instead, the team will turn to assistant chief advance scout Takenori Izawa to fill the void.

The Tigers also held a moment of silence for Watanabe before their practices yesterday.

Yuya Ando gave up an unearned run during a 1 inning relief stint in a N-gun game against Hiroshima yesterday.  He also gave up 2 hits and was called for a balk twice.

Terrmel Sledge is still suffering from pink eye.
