Some news and notes:

A total 21,231,018 votes were cast this year at an average of 110,167 votes per day.  Last year's numbers: 26,336,313 votes at an average of 8,9193 votes a day (voting period was about a week longer last year).

In fan voting, the Softbank Hawks paced either league with 5 players while the Yakult Swallows led the CL with 4 players.  There were two teams that had 0 players: the Hiroshima Carp (first time since 2006) and the Seibu Lions (first time since 2007).  The Hiroshima Carp also ended up being the only team without any selections from the players as well.  No first year players were selected either.

Four CL and three PL players were selected by fans for the first time in their careers.  Munenori Kawasaki (SOF) led all players with his 8th selection.  Takeshi Yamasaki (RAK) was selected at first by fans and at DH by the players.  Since fan votes carry more weight, Yamasaki will be on the roster as a first baseman.  Yu Darvish (HAM) recorded an all-time high 490 player votes.

Norichika Aoki (YAK) led all players with 334,586 votes.  Tadahito Iguchi (LOT) led all PL players with 290,018 votes.

Each team will carry 32 players.  After fan and player selections, the CL currently contains 14 players and the PL 16.  The manager selections (17 for the CL and 15 for the PL) will be released on the 7/4.  Plus One voting will take place between 7/5 and 7/11.  Final rosters will be released on 7/13.
