Chunichi Dragons

Yudai Ono pitched two relief innings during a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima today.  Ono entered the game in the 6th and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits and struck out the side in the 7th.  He threw a total 29 pitches.

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers became the third team in the CL (after Yomiuri and Chunichi) to record 4,000 franchise victories.  Since 1950, they are 4,000-3,927-244.

Hiroyuki Kobayashi joined the Ichi-gun team in Okayama today, as planned.  He took part in pre-game practices and later told reporters he was feeling fine.

Yasutomo Kubo threw 45 pitches in the bullpen today.  It was Kubo's second bullpen since his injury and the first time he mixed in off-speed pitches.  He is currently scheduled to toss BP at Naruohama on Sunday.  If he's feeling fine after that, he could pitch in a Ni-gun game on 7/8 vs Softbank.  That could put him in line for a return to the active roster some time after the 12th.

Yomiuri Giants

Levi Romero will likely be demoted after giving up 3 runs (all earned) in 0.1 innings of work tonight against the Chunichi Dragons.

Saburo Omura's first hit with the Yomiuri Giants came tonight: it was a solo homer off Kazuki Yoshimi (CHU) in the bottom of the 8th.

Satoshi Fukuda's wife gave birth to the couple's second child (a girl weighing 3,582 grams) on 6/29 at 11:42pm.
