Chunichi Dragons

According to Nikkan Sports, Hitoki Iwase has been pulled in the middle of an inning only twice in his career: once in 2009 and again last night against the Yomiuri Giants.

Doala successfully turned a back-flip (no twist) during a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima yesterday (after the 5th inning).  Doala is expected to return to Ichi-gun on the 5th (Nagoya Dome vs Hanshin).

Hanshin Tigers

Tatsuya Kojima started a Ni-gun game against Yomiuri today and gave up a run on 2 hits over 6.1 innings of work (he held Yomiuri to just 1 hit over the first 6 innings).

Tomoaki Kanemoto recorded his 420th career double and moved into a 5th place tie with Isao Harimoto on the All-time list.

Hiroki Uemoto recorded his first Ichi-gun error and homer last night.

The Tigers are the 6th club in the NPB to record 4,000 wins.  The other five: Yomiuri, Seibu, Chunichi, Softbank, and Orix.  Going back to the 1-league system, the Tigers have a total 4,730 (Yomiuri has the all-time high of 5,337).

Yomiuri Giants

Yoshinobu Takahashi knocked out his 147th Tokyo Dome homer last night.  That moved him out of a first place tie with Hideki Matsui on the All-time list.
