Yusei Kikuchi was taken off the active roster yesterday, but he'll probably return again when the team plays 13 straight games, beginning on the 8th. In the meantime, he'll continue his workouts at Ni-gun.
Chiba Lotte Marines
Tatsuya Uchi was taken off the active roster today with tightness in his right elbow.
The Marines announced yesterday that they will continue the Saburo Seats, but under a different name (free tickets to kids' baseball teams in Chiba).
Nippon Ham Fighters
Yuki Saito is scheduled to toss around 50 pitches and go 2-3 innings during his Ni-gun start on the the 5th (vs Seibu). If things go smoothly, he could then be added back to the active roster in time for a start on the 11th (vs Rakuten).
Sho Nakata currently leads both leagues with 10 game-winning RBI.
Injury updates: Hisashi Iwakuma (right shoulder) could make an appearance during an upcoming Ni-gun series against Yokohama (7/5-7/7). Depending on how well he does and how he's feeling the following day, his next outing may come at Ichi-gun. ... Takeshi Yamasaki (right ring finger) told reporters yesterday he'd like to try and play a couple of games at Ichi-gun before the All-Star break. That could mean a return to the active roster against the Nippon Ham Fighters (the Eagles' last series before the All-Star break).
Katsuya Nomura took in a game at Kleenex Stadium yesterday for the first time this season. It was also the first time he stepped foot in Sendai since the March 11 earthquake / tsunami.
Masahiro Tanaka currently leads both leagues with a 1.08 ERA (100.1 IP, 68 H, 105 SO, 12 ER).
