Softbank Hawks

The Hawks will be wearing their powder blue Championship Uniforms between 7/1 and 7/20 (including road games as well).  The Taka-no Saiten (Hawk's Festival), for which the uniforms were designed, will be taking place over four games at Yahoo Dome (7/8, 7/18-7/20).

Seibu Lions

Hiroyuki Nakajima played in his 1,000th career game last night.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Toshiaki Imae was held out of tonight's starting line-up due to tightness in his left calf.  His status for tomorrow's game is uncertain.

Nippon Ham Fighters

The Fighters decided today that Yuki Saito will be pitching in a Ni-gun game against Seibu on 7/5.  Saito is currently traveling with the team (he went from Sapporo Dome to Seibu Dome with them) but since the Fighters don't need him back immediately, they'll have him pitch in at least one Ni-gun game before adding him back to the active roster.

The Fighters announced today that the William Smith Clark statue at the Hitsujigaoka observation hill in Sapporo will be wearing the team's road uniforms during the Hokkaido Festival at Sapporo Dome (7/15-7/17).  The players will also be wearing the road uniforms.

In winning his 10th game of the year last night, Yu Darvish became just the second player (the other, Masayuki Dobashi) in franchise history to record double-digit victories in 6 consecutive seasons.  He also recorded his 45th double-digit strikeout game, placing him in a 5th place tie with Daisuke Matsuzaka on the All-time list.

And while this has nothing to do with Darvish, Daily Sports is reporting that his younger brother, Sho, was arrested for marijuana possession (0.012 grams) and assault and battery (inflicted minor injuries to a woman by striking her in the face and kicking her in the stomach).

Orix Buffaloes

The Buffaloes are currently hosting their Osaka Natsu-no Jin festival at Kycera Dome (7/1-7/3).

Rakuten Eagles

Masahiro Tanaka became the first right-handed pitcher drafted out of high school to record 100+ strikeouts in 5 consecutive seasons (including his rookie year).

Kazuo Matsui got the day off last night in order to rest.
