7/4/2011: Ichiro Suzuki, Hideki Matsui, Kosuke Fukudome

Games from the 3rd:

Seattle Mariners 3 - San Deigo Padres 1
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-3: single to left (steals second, run scored), infield single (run scored), ground out to first, walk.

Oakland A's 7 - Arizona Diamondbacks 2
Hideki Matsui started in left and batted fourth.  He went 1-for-4: strikeout looking, single to left (run scored), pop out to first, line out to short. Matsui also recorded an assist in the top of the 8th when he threw out Chris Young at home.

Chicago Cubs 3 - Chicago White Sox 1
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first. He went 1-for-4: strikeout swinging, double to right, ground out to short, strikeout swinging.

Minnesota Twins 9 - Milwaukee Brewers 7
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted ninth.  He went 0-for-3: strikeout swinging, ground out to second, ground out to short, sac bunt.

Baltimore Orioles 5 - Atlanta Braves 4
Koji Uehara entered the game in the bottom of the 8th, with Baltimore up 5-4, and tossed a shutout inning in relief. Final line: 1 IP, 5 BF, 27-17 NP-S, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR.


Ichiro Suzuki failed to make the All-Star Game roster for the 11th straight year.  No other Japanese players made it either, make this year's All-Star Game the first not to include a Japanese player since 2000.
