Seibu Lions

Tatsuya Oishi tossed 2 shutout innings in relief (6th and 7th innings) during a Ni-gun game against Rakuten on Saturday.  He faced a total 9 batters and allowed 3 and struck out 1.  He also threw 30 pitches and topped out at 139km/h.  Oishi is scheduled to pitch in relief again during a Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on 7/6.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Shota Ishimine extended his hitting streak to 7 games today (13-for-30).

Nippon Ham Fighters

According to Nikkan Sports, Sho Nakata's legs are getting bigger because of the he stands in the batter's box.  So much so that he ordered 3 new pairs of pants based on Eiichi Koyano's uniform size -- he tried on Atsunori Inaba's uniform pants but found them to be too long; Koyano's were big, but apparently comfortable enough because he ended up borrowing a pair to use during practices.

Sub-manager Tomoyuki Yamanaka jokingly told reporters Nakata could have got measured himself, but must have wanted to wear his favorite player's uniform instead.

Rakuten Eagles

Not rocket science but... Nikkan Sports points to a lack of starters with experience (Hisashi Iwakuma, Darrell Rasner, and now Satoshi Nagai are all hurt); and not enough run support for inexperienced starters as being two problems for the team not being able to win consecutive games.

What was Rasner’s injury again? Any ETA on his arrival. I thought I read he was nearing return.
