Chunichi Dragons

Shinji Iwata will probably start tonight's game against the Hanshin Tigers (Nagoya Dome).

Masahiro Araki is hoping to be in the starting line-up tonight.  Araki hurt his left leg while running the bases on Saturday and was held out of Sunday's game.

Doala will be returning to the Ichi-gun club today at Nagoya Dome.

Hanshin Tigers

Minoru Iwata will probably get Thursday's start against the Chunichi Dragons (Nagoya Dome) on 5 days of rest.  If he does get the start, it will be his first start against the Dragons since 10/4/2009.

According to Sanspo, the Tigers are 16-8 when they're the first to score.

The Tigers will be playing three games in Nagoya, beginning tonight.  Their Ni-gun team will also be playing three games in Nagoya (Nagoya Dome today and Nagoya Stadium on Wednesday and Thursday).  As such, they plan on having some of their younger players on the Ichi-gun roster take part in the Ni-gun games for extra work.

The Tigers are currently planning on Yasutomo Kubo returning to the active roster on 7/15.  But before he does, he'll get a rehab outing on 7/8 (Ni-gun game against Softbank).

The Tigers have decided to sell some Akihito Fujii merchandise (t-shirts, towels) some time this month.

Yomiuri Giants

Hirokazu Sawamura plans on preparing for his next start (likely on 7/10 vs Hiroshima) by doing a lot of long distance throwing instead of pitching in the bullpen.  Up to this point, Sawamura has been tossing 2 bullpen sessions in between his starts.

Yakult Swallows

Norichika Aoki is hoping to play in tonight's game against the Yomiuri Giants.  Aoki sprained his right ankle on Sunday and was still limping around yesterday, but did tell reporters that he was feeling better than on Sunday and that there wasn't that much swelling.

Yoshinori Sato is scheduled to make a rehab start on the 8th (Ni-gun game vs Yomiuri).  Junji Ogawa told reporters that Yoshinori could end up returning to the active roster in time for an All-Star game appearance.

Hiroshima Carp

The Carp will be playing in Okinawa for the first time since 1975.

Bryan Bullington will probably start tonight's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars at Okinawa Cellular Stadium Naha in Okinawa.  Bullington has actually pitched in Okinawa before -- All-Japan University vs USA Collegiate National Team at Chatan Stadium on 6/24/2001.
