Notes

There was a 57-minute rain delay partway through the 2nd inning (from 7:20pm until 8:17pm; the rain actually stopped after about 15 minutes; it took over 20 grounds crew to prepare the field). ... Orion Beer girl Nozomi Yonamine threw out the ceremonial first pitch.  Former pro boxer Yoko Gushiken got in the batter's box against her and tried to bunt the ball.

Hiroshima: The Carp suffered their 11th shutout loss of the season. Their 3-game winning streak in Okinawa also came to an end. ... Fukui lost his second straight start and dropped to 3-5.

Yokohama: The Bay Stars stopped a 5-game losing streak. This was also the Bay Stars' first franchise victory in Okinawa and their third shutout victory of the year. ... Takasaki picked up the win and is now 2-6.  This is actually Takasaki first victory since his first start of the season (4/14 vs Chunichi).  He went 0-6 in 12 starts in between wins.
