Nippon Ham Fighters
Sho Nakata has collected at least one RBI in his last 5 games.
The Buffaloes recorded their third straight walk-off victory last night. This has been accomplished 13 times in NPB history, with the Yakult Swallows being the last in 2009. In the PL, only three other teams have managed the feat: Nankai and Toei in 1961 and Nippon Ham in 1997.
Makoto Moriyama also became the first base-runner to cross the plate in all three walk-off victories (he entered the game as a pinch-runner).
The Eagles have won and lost 11 straight games (flipping back and forth between winning and losing), breaking the previous franchise record of 10. The NPB record is 14, set by Kokutetsu in 1963, Hankyu in 1969 and 1970, Hiroshima in 1975, and Daiei in 2002.
Hisashi Iwakuma's rehab start yesterday went well enough that there's still a chance he could return to the active roster before the All-Star break.
