Softbank Hawks

Hitoshi Tamura played in a Ni-gun game against Hanshin today.  He started in right, batted sixth, and went 1-for-2 with an RBI: fly out to second, RBI single to left.

The Hawks will be making renovations to Gannosu Stadium.  In addition to increasing stadium capacity (from about 300 to around 3,000 seats), work will also be done on the locker rooms and bathrooms.  The changes will costs around 150M yen and the Hawks are hoping construction will be complete in time for the start of the 2012 Ni-gun season.  The Hawks are also thinking about selling off the naming rights to the stadium.  Sports Hochi mentions that lights are being considered as well (to allow for more practices).

There are also talks of increasing the capacity at Yahoo Dome to around 41,000 within 3 years.

The Hawks announced that Sadaharu Oh will be holding a lecture at Karatsu City Assembly Hall in Saga on 9/18.

Rakuten Eagles

Ryohei Isaka worked out at Asahikawa Starffin Stadium today in preparation for his start against the Nippon Ham Fighters tomorrow.

Orix Buffaloes

The Buffaloes took a later train out of Kansai today and held their pre-game practice session about 30 minutes later than originally planned.  Pre-game BP was also cut down to 40 minutes.  Akinobu Okada told reporters the cut in practice times was made after the team decided to take a later train.
