Yomiuri Giants
Yoshinobu Takahashi became the 108th player in NPB history to collect 1,500 hits today. The hit came in the bottom of the 5th inning with 1 out, no one on, and Bryan Bullington on the mound for Hiroshima.
Takahashi recorded his first hit on 4/3/1998 against the Yakult Swallows.
Yokohama Bay Stars
Daisuke Miura picked up his first victory of the year today. The win also helped him set a new franchise record of recording at least one victory in 19 consecutive seasons (1993-2011). The previous franchise record of 18 seasons was held by Masaji Hiramatsu (1967-1984).
