Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-4: ground out to short, ground out to first, strikeout (foul tip), ground out to second.  This was the 30th time Ichiro was held hitless in a game.

Texas Rangers 2 - Oakland A's 0
Hideki Matsui entered the game as a pinch-hitter hitter in the top of the 9th with 2 outs and grounded out to first for the final out of the game.

Minnesota Twins 6 - Chicago White Sox 3
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted seventh.  He went 0-for-3: fly out to left, walk (run scored), double play (RBI), strikeout looking.

Ichiro Suzuki recorded his 100th and 101st hit on the 9th and is now just 1 season away from tying Pete Rose's record of 12 straight seasons of 100 or more hits before the All-Star break.


Hideki Matsui does not have a hit in his last 20 trips to the plate.
