Hanshin Tigers

Minoru Iwata, Jason Standridge, Naoto Tsuru, and Atsushi Nomi worked out at Koshien Stadium today.

Yomiuri Giants

Seth Greisinger will probably start tomorrow's game against the Hanshin Tigers.  Dicky Gonzalez could also get a start during the series (he threw 36 pitches in the bullpen today).  The two played catch during practice at Giants Stadium today.

Tetsuya Utsumi also worked out at Giants Stadium today and threw 57 pitches in the bullpen.

New owner Tsunekazu Momoi told reporters yesterday that he wasn't a big fan of Tokyo Dome and that he actually preferred the previous stadium (Korakuen).  But he also added that the team wouldn't be able to do anything about it (too expensive) and that they had no other choice but to continue using Tokyo Dome for the time being.

Regarding the team's current situation, Momoi said he wanted to see the players playing with more determination and that Tatsunori Hara was still the manager of the team on the field.

Yakult Swallows

Kyohei Muranaka joined the Ichi-gun team for practice today.

The Swallows announced a number of upcoming events:

The Fuji TV announcers "pop group" Early Morning (made up of Minako Nakano, Yoko Shono, and Ayako Kato) will be making an appearance on 7/13 (vs Chunichi) to promote their single Sukoshizutsu Sukoshizutsu (少しずつ、少しずつ) and to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Tokyo Tower mascot Noppon (older brother) will be the game on the 14th (vs Chunichi) to greet fans and to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Swallows will begin selling a ticket pack that includes a pair of tickets and a coupon for a free medium-sized pizza (Dominos) for home games between 8/12 and 10/9.  There will only be 50 sets available per game.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars will be hosting Amami Day on the 16th.  Amami mayor Tsuyoshi Asayama will throw out the first pitch.
