The NPB owners met today and decided to set up a delegation committee that will work on negotiating a higher share of the WBC revenue. The committee will be headed by NPB commissioner Ryozo Kato and Rakuten Eagles' owner Toru Shimada.
In 2009, the MLB and the MLBPA received 66% of the WBC revenue while Japan received 13%. Shimada told reporters that the NPB felt they didn't receive a fair share, based on what they brought to the table (like their team and the sponsors).
The owners also discussed methods to help improve the financial bottom-line for the NPB.
