Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: ground out to short, ground out to second, RBI single to center, pop out to short.

LA Angels 4 - Oakland A's 2 (Game 1)
Hideki Matsui started in left and batted fourth.  He went 1-for-4: ground out to first, ground out to short, pop out to third, double to right (replaced by pinch-runner).

Minnesota Twins 4 - Kansas City Royals 3
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted ninth.  He went 0-for-3: ground out to third, ground out to the pitcher, ground out to first.

Baltimore Orioles 6 - Cleveland Indians 5
Koji Uehara entered the game in the top of the 8th, with the Orioles up 3-2, and tossed a shutout inning in relief.. Final line: 1 IP, 3 BF, 12-10 NP-S, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR.

Oakland A's 4 - LA Angels 3 (Game 2)
Hisanori Takahashi entered the game in the bottom of the 7th, with runners on second and third, 1 out, and the game tied at 3.  Takahashi did not allow any of his inherited runners to scores in the 7th and tossed an additional 2 shutout innings. Final line: 2.2 IP, 10 BF, 40-25 NP-S, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO, 0 HR.

Florida Marlins 13 - Chicago Cubs 3
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: ground out to second, strikeout swinging, single to center (run scored), strikeout swinging.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3 - Los Angeles Dodgers 2
Hiroki Kuroda started the game and gave up 3 runs over 6 innings.  Kuroda took the loss and dropped to 6-11 on the year.  Final line: 6 IP, 23 BF, 91-52 NP-S, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 SO, 1 HR.


Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman tweeted that the Boston Red Sox have an interest in Hiroki Kuroda.
