7/21/2011: Hideki Matsui finally hits his 500th NPB + MLB homer

Toronto Blue Jays 11 - Seattle Mariners 6
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: single to center, ground out to short, ground out to second, line out to first.  Ichiro was removed from the game on defense in the bottom of the 7th.

Oakland A's 7 - Detroit Tigers 5
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted fourth.  He went 3-for-4 : fly out to center, RBI infield single, solo homer (7) to right, RBI single to right.  Matsui also recorded his 500th career homer (332 NPB + 168 MLB) off Duane Below in the top of the 6th.

Minnesota Twins 7 - Cleveland Indians 5
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted eighth.  He went 2-for-4: single to center, pop out to third, strikeout swinging, 2-run single to left.

LA Angels 9 - Texas Rangers 8
Hisanori Takahashi entered the game in the top of the 5th, with a runner on second, 1 out, and the Angels down 6-2.  Takahashi allowed both an inherited runner and a runner of his own to score before getting out of the inning on a pop out and a strikeout (not in succession).  He then tossed a shutout 6th and ended up getting the win.  Takahashi is now 3-2.  Final line: 1.2 IP, 9 BF, 41-25 NP-S, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR.

Yoshinori Tateyama entered the game in the bottom of the 7th, with the Rangers down 9-8, and tossed 2 shutout innings. Final line: 2 IP, 8 BF, 41-25 NP-S, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO, 0 HR.

Philadelphia Phillies 9 - Chicago Cubs 1
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-4: strikeout looking, fly out to left, pop out to second, ground out to first.

Milwaukee Brewers 5 - Arizona Diamondbacks 2
Takashi Saito entered the game in the bottom of the 9th, with the score tied 2-2, and tossed a shutout inning in relief.  Saito got the win and improved to 2-1. This was also his 300th career MLB appearance.  Final line: 1 IP, 5 BF, 18-10 NP-S, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 SO, 0 HR.
