2011 All-Star Game News and Notes: Darvish, Tanaka, Wada to pitch in Game 3

Hayato Terahara (ORI) will try to set a new personal high on the radar gun during his start.

===

Koji Akiyama told reporters that he plans on using Yu Darvish (HAM), Masahiro Tanaka (RAK), and Tsuyoshi Wada (SOF) for Game 3.

===

Hiroki Kokubo (SOF) will be batting clean-up for the Pacific League today.

===

Sho Nakata (HAM) will likely bat sixth and start in left today.  He told reporters yesterday that he plans on taking full swings, instead of the more controlled swings he's been taking during the regular season.

Additionally, Akiyama said he wanted to bat Nakata fourth but felt it would take at bats away from other players and in order to make up for that, would stick with three set outfielders in Nakata, Yoshio Itoi (HAM) and Tomotaka Sakaguchi (ORI) for all three games.

===

Takahiro Okada (ORI) will be donating 100,000 yen for every home run he hits during the All-Star series.

===

Seiichi Uchikawa (SOF) will most likely make an appearance in all three games as a pinch-hitter.

===

Shohei Tateyama (YAK) told reporters yesterday that he plans on throwing a gyroball during his outing.

"I think I can throw it if I throw it from the side," said Tateyama.  "It's like letting a cutter slip out of my hand.  The index finger, then the middle finger come off the ball one at a time, with the middle finger sort of carrying the ball along the way. ... If I make a mistake, the pitch will hang, but if I do it right, there will be nice movement on it."
