Hirokazu Sawamura (YOM) is scheduled to pitch today and told reporters yesterday that he plans making his first pitch a fastball.  Kazuhisa Makita (SEI) will probably pitch for the PL today.

Tetsuya Utsumi (YOM) will probably pitch in Game 3.

===

Keiichi Hirano (HAN) will likely be in the starting line-up for the CL today.

===

At 38 years and 11 months, Atsunori Inaba (HAM) is the second oldest player to hit a home run during an All-Star game.  The oldest player to have hit a homer during an All-Star game: Hiromasa Arai at 39 years and 2 months.

===

Daiki Enokida (HAN) threw nothing but fastballs during his outing last night.

===

Dennis Sarfate (HIR) topped out at 154km/h last night.

===

Kazuhiro Hatakeyama (YAK) became the third player in Yakult Swallows' franchise history to hit a homer in his first All-Star game.  The other two: Hajimu Tatsumi in 1960 and Takahiro Ikeyama in 1988.

===

Hisayoshi Chono (YOM) would like a chance to face Yu Darvish (HAM).  He'd also love it if Darvish would challenge him with nothing but fastballs.

"Darvish is one of the best pitchers in Japan.  I'll take full cuts against him," said Chono.  "It would be nice to see all kinds of pitches, but if possible, I'd really like to see him challenge me with his fastball."

The player's association invited the Miyako, Iwate mayor and tourism related personnel from Iwate and Miyagi to Game 1 of the series.  They have invited some people from Iwaki, Fukushima to today's game.
