Boston Red Sox 7 - Seattle Mariners 4
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-5: single to center (steals 2nd, steals 3rd, run scored), line out to short, fly out to left, double (14) to left, ground out to the pitcher (bunt)

New York Yankees 17 - Oakland A's 7
Hideki Matsui started in left and batted fourth.  He went 0-for-3: walk, ground out to second, line out to right, reaches on throwing error (E6).  Matsui also recorded an outfield assist (threw out Derek Jeter at third in the bottom of the 2nd) and was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the top of the 8th.

Detroit Tigers 8 - Minnesota Twins 2
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted ninth.  He went 0-for-3: strikeout (foul tip), strikeout swinging, ground out to second.

LA Angels 6 - Baltimore Orioles 1
Hisanori Takahashi entered the game in the bottom of the 8th, with runners on first and second, 2 out, and the Angles up 2-1.  Takahashi faced the minimum 4 batters in getting the last 4 outs of the game and his first save of the year.  Final line: 1.1 IP, 4 BF, 21-16 NP-S, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR.

Chicago Cubs 4 - Houston Astros 2
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-3: single to center, single to right, pop out to short, walk.

Washington Nationals 7 - Los Angeles Dodgers 2
Hiroki Kuroda started the game and gave up 3 runs (all earned) over 6.1 innings of work.  Kuroda took the loss and dropped to 6-12.  Final line: 6.1 IP, 27 BF, 115-74 NP-S, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 SO, 1 HR.


The Oakland A's will hold a pre-game ceremony commemorating Hideki Matsui's 500th career NPB + MLB homer on the 25th.
