Seiichi Uchikawa played in a Ni-gun rehab game against Hanshin today and went 1-for-4 with an RBI. He was the starting DH and batted fourth.
"I'm ready if it's just hitting. I'm probably at about 80% on running," said Uchikawa. He then added, "It depends on what they're expecting. If they need me to play a full game on defense, that would be impossible."
Toru Hosokawa also saw some action in the game -- he was the starting catcher, batted seventh, and played 3 innings.
"No problems. I wasn't even scared [to move around]. I'd like to try and play a little longer tomorrow," said Hosokawa.
Hideaki Wakui took a batted ball off his left wrist in the 6th inning of tonight's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines and was promptly removed. The ball was hit by Keisuke Hayasaka.
Kazuhisa Ishii participated in pre-game practice at Seibu Dome today. Ishii took a batted ball of his right calf in the third inning of Monday's game and had to have the leg iced.
Said Ishii, "I wanted to see how my leg would hold up when I planted it. There doesn't seem to be any problems. I don't want to take the day off for something unnecessary and I don't want to become a burden."
