Seiichi Uchikawa will likely return to the starting line-up tonight, as a DH batting third.
"My feel for things has improved a lot," said Uchikawa. "I think I'll be able to play on regular basis beginning tomorrow. Honestly though, I'm still not ready to play the outfield. That's still going to take some time. I still feel little twinges of pain every now and again, but it has definitely gotten better than before."
Uchikawa's improvement may have also made it easier to take Alex Cabrera off the active roster.
Buffalo Bell has apparently become a hit for the Buffaloes. The club has even received queries on merchandising opportunities outside of their regular baseball market.
Nikkan Sports goes into a little more of an explanation regarding Senichi Hoshino's remark about nothing having his pitchers thrown in between innings. They use Masahiro Tanaka to help illustrate:
Tanaka has thrown a total 1,879 pitches in 16 games. He averages about 117 pitches a game and tends to throw around 45 pitches in the bullpen before the game. During the game, he'll play catch in between innings and throw the ball around about 15 times each inning. Assuming a complete game at home, 15 pitches x 8 innings = 120 pitches. Throw in the 5 practice pitches before the start of each inning and Tanaka throws about 327 pitches during games he starts.
