Craig Brazell was held out of the starting line-up last night because he hasn't done very well against Dicky Gonzalez (YOM): 1-for-5 with 3 strikeouts in 2009; 0-for-11 with 7 strikeouts in 2010; and 0-for-3 so far this year. Kentaro Sekimoto started in Brazell's place.
Kyuji Fujikawa moved into a 6th place tie on the All-time saves list (tied with Marc Kroon) last night when he recorded his 177th career save.
Daiki Enokida was shut down for 3 days and starting a throwing program yesterday that included playing catch at a distance of 40 meters. Enokida later told reporters that he didn't feel any discomfort and that he was just doing whatever they told him to do. Enokida will likely begin throwing bullpen sessions soon and could pitch in a Ni-gun game as early as the 9th (vs Hiroshima).
Kenji Jojima spent about 5 hours at the Naruohama training facilities yesterday.
