Yamato is expected to join the active roster today. Naoto Tsuru will probably join the Ichi-gun players for practice today in preparation for a possible Ichi-gun start on the 7th vs Yakult (at Koycera Dome).
Tomoaki Kanemoto recorded his 423rd career double last night and moved into sole possession of 4th place on the All-time doubles list. The double also pushed Kanemoto into a 10th place tie on the All-time hit list with Takuro Ishii (2,414 hits).
Kenji Jojima continued his rehab workouts at Naruohama yesterday. When asked what his plans were from the 5th on, he said he wasn't sure. Jojima is expected to take off for the US at some point in the near future to get a second opinion on his right elbow and left knee.
Alex Ramirez collected his 1,792nd career hit last night and tied Tuffy Rhodes for 1st on the All-time hit list for foreign players. He also accomplished the milestone in his 11th year vs Rhodes' 13th year.
The Giants will be sending Josh Fields down to Ni-gun today and calling up Shinji Takahashi in his place. Fields has struggled to catch on during his 19-game stint on the active roster -- 12-for-56, 2 2B, 0 HR, 14 TB, 0 RBI, 15 SO, 1 BB, .214/.241/.250.

The Bay Stars lost last night and became the first team (in either league) to lose 50 games this season. This also marked the fourth straight season Yokohama has done this.
