Hiromitsu Ochiai spoke to Daily Sports about playing charity matches to help raise money for relief efforts back on 8/2. He continued the thought with Daily Sports again yesterday.
If they ask me to manage the team, I'll do it. I can't want to look the other way after being vocal about this. I usually like to stay away from things like All-Star games because I don't want players from other teams getting injured while I'm managing. But I'd do it for something like this. ... They could split teams into East and West birthplaces. That would give fans a chance to watch players on the same team compete against each other. Since it's for charity, I'm sure we could gather up some foreign players. Playing a Japan vs Foreigners game could be interesting as well. ... They have already started working on the 2011 schedule. There isn't a lot of time [to get this going]. I'd like to hope that the [NPB] can quickly group together and organize something like this. Especially after a year like this.
