PL News and Notes: Hayato Terahara (ORI) could return to the starting rotation on the 14th

Softbank Hawks

Hiroki Kokubo told reporters yesterday that he no longer felt any pain and that he thought he'd be able to play today (batting fourth at first base) if everything went well during BP.  Kokubo was hit by a pitch in his back (left side) on the 4th (vs Orix) and has missed the last 3 games.

The media learned today that Tsuyoshi Wada has been excused from traveling with the team during weekend road trips since his starts fall on a Wednesday (assuming 6 days of rest).

Seibu Lions

Yusei Kikuchi could get another Ichi-gun start on the 11th vs Nippon Ham at Seibu Dome.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Former Fighter Shinjo's father passed away on the 5th due to esophageal cancer.  He was 70 years old.

Orix Buffaloes

Hayato Terahara joined he Ichi-gun players for practice yesterday.  He could make his return to the starting rotation with a start on the 14th vs Seibu (at Kyocera Dome).  Terahara was taken off the active roster on the 4th due to tightness in his right elbow.

Akinobu Okada further cemented Terahara's return with the following comment:

[Shinya Nakayama and Alfredo Figaro] will start on 5 days of rest and Terahara will be added into that mix.
