8/11/2011: Ichiro Suzuki, Koji Uehara, Hideki Matsui

Seattle Mariners 4 - Texas Rangers 3
Ichiro Suzuki was the starting DH and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: single to center (steals second), force out to the pitcher, ground out to first, walk, ground out to third.  Ichiro's stolen base in the 1st was the 30th of the season.  It also made him the 16th player in MLB history to steal 30 or more bases 10 times.

Koji Uehara entered the game in the top of the 7th, with the game tied at 3, and gave up the go-ahead run in his one inning work.  Uehara took the loss and dropped to 1-2 on the year. Final line: 1 IP, 6 BF, 21-16 NP-S, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO, 0 HR.

Toronto Blue Jays 8 - Oakland A's 4
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted third.  He went 0-for-3: line out to center, fly out to center, HBP, walk, strikeout looking.

Cleveland Indians 10 - Detroit Tigers 3
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted sixth.  He went 3-for-5: ground out to second, double (19) to center, RBI double (20) to right, single to right, pop out to third.

Minnesota Twins 5 - Boston Red Sox 2
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted ninth.  He went -for-4: pop into double play, pop out to second, pop out to second, RBI single to center.  Nishioka has now hit safely in 7 straight games.


Cal Ripken Jr. told reporters on the 9th that he has plans to visit Japan in November in order to meet earthquake / tsunami survivors (kids).
