Takeya Nakamura knocked out grand slam in last night's game against the Nippon Ham Fighters. For Nakamura, it was his 29th homer of the season and 11th grand slam of his career.
Ryan Mulhern was left out the starting line-up last night, likely due to his recent struggles: 0-for-9 with 5 strikeouts. He did make it into the game as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the 8th (HBP).

Yuki Saito worked on how he transfers his weight during a light bullpen session yesterday (catcher squatting out in front of the batter's box for about 15 minutes).
Akinobu Okada isn't happy with Takahiro Okada's and apparently said to him:
You're not a number 4 hitter. I don't need a number 4 hitter that can't hit a fastball. Why do I even bother [giving you tips before the start of the game].
After Okada complained about teams not being in the loop when it comes to the 3.5 time limit rule, he was told to keep an eye on the second base ump for signs on the time limit because the second base ump was getting the time from the official scorer and then passing it on to the home plate ump.
Kazuo Matsui has 10 hits in his last 23 trips to the plate (including 8 in his last 15 trips).
