PL News and Notes: Mitsutaka Goto (ORI) becomes 9th player to hit homer out of every spot in the lineup
Koji Akiyama's mother (Misue) passed away in a Kumamoto hospital on Wednesday (8/10) at 8:50pm of heart failure. She was 85.
Yusei Kikuchi could get another start on the 31st (vs Rakuten). Kikuchi has also gone back to a three-quarters arm slot.
And for those keeping track, the Lions have scored a total 26 runs the the three games Kikuchi has started this year.

Mitsutaka Goto nailed a 2-run homer batting out of the 4th spot last night, making him the 9th player in NPB history to hit a homer out of every spot in the batting order. The last player to accomplish the feat: Yuki Yoshimura on 6/17/2009. The last player to accomplish it by hitting a homer out of the 4 spot: Tadahito Iguchi on 4/7/2009.
Goto also recorded the milestone with with 73rd career homer, which is the third fewest. Akihito Igarashi did it in 26 homers and Hirofumi Ogawa did it in 65 homers.
