Kazuki Yoshimi left last night's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars in the middle of the bottom of the 6th (he left with runners on first and second and 2 out). TV Kanagawa broadcasters mentioned the possibility of an injury (perhaps a fingernail), but Yoshimi denied any injury after the game.
As of this posting, Hisayoshi Chono is the only batter (with the necessary at bats) in the CL with a batting average above .300 (he's batting .310). The next closest batter is Matt Murton (.297).
With Chang-Yong Lim out with hip / back pain, the Swallows will likely rely on Tony Barnette to be their closer.
Shinya Miyamoto and Masanori Ishikawa gathered the players together for a meeting after their loss to the Hanshin Tigers on Friday night.
Kenjiro Nomura told reporters after last night's game that he made a mistake by pulling Jumpei Shinoda when he did (no one on, 1 out, and Hayato Sakamoto coming up to bat).
I thought it best to switch to Kishimoto before he could allow any base runners and with 1 out. ... I guess I could have Shinoda... Bringing in [Kishimoto] was my fault.
And chief pitching coach Yutaka Ono voiced concerns about having Shinoda face Sakamoto again:
He walked Sakamoto the at bat before and also gave up hits to him [in the two at bats before that].

The Bay Starts haven't been able to record any back-to-back victories since they won 3 in a row between 6/26 and 6/29.
