Akinobu Okada on putting Takahiro Okada back in the starting lineup tonight (0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout):

He needs to hit in games.  He's hitting during practice and I'm using him because I think he can hit.  It isn't like I'm doing this just for him.

The Buffaloes pulled off a successful squeeze play in the 5th inning of Friday night's game against the Seibu Lions.  Okada generally doesn't turn to them, having only called for a squeeze two other times during a regular season game: 9/13/2006 vs Hiroshima and 9/19/2006 vs Chunichi.

Masahiro Tanaka's complete game victory against the Chiba Lotte Marines tonight was his first where he needed less than 100 pitches (97 pitches to be exact).

Kelvin Jimenez was in good spirits today as he told reporters he was able to celebrate his first NPB victory on Friday by eating a yakinuki dinner with his family.

Sakurano Sendai presented the Eagles with 2,104 folded papers cranes before Friday's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines.  Sakurano started collecting paper cranes from customers after the March 11 earthquake / tsunami.
