As of last night, chairman Tsuneo Watanabe told reporters that Tatsunori Hara would be returning next season.
The Swallows came back from a 9-0 deficit to finish in a 10-10 tie. There have been two other games where teams returned from a 9 run deficit to finish a game in a tie (the Swallows are the first CL team to accomplish the feat):
7/5/1978 - Hankyu was down 11-2 against Crown and managed a 12-12 tie.
5/3/2003 - Seibu was down 9-0 against Orix and managed a 12-12 tie.
The largest deficit the Swallows have overcome in franchise history for a victory: 4/28/1999 vs Yomiuri, down 9-1 they came back and won the game 10-9.
Yokohama Bay Stars
The last time the Bay Stars...
...scored 8 runs in an inning: 9/4/2010 vs Yakult, 8 runs in the 6th inning.
...scored as many as 8 runs in the 1st inning: 8/30/1996 vs Hiroshima, 10 runs.
...collect 8 straight hits in one inning: 9/19/2005 vs Hiroshima, 2nd inning. The franchise high is 9 straight hits: accomplished on 5/13/1994 against Yomiuri in the 8th inning.
Had the Bay Stars lost the game, they would have become just the second team in NPB history to lose a game after putting together a 9 or more run lead (the other team would be Orix). The first time the Bay Stars blew a 9 or more run lead and lost: 5/19/1951 when they had a 10 run lead over Shochiku.
