Hanshin Tigers

Masanori Fujihara will likely be added to the active roster today in order to give the bullpen a little support (the Tigers used 5 relievers on both Wednesday and Thursday).

Fujihara's Ni-gun numbers: 28 G, 1-0, 27.1 IP, 21 H, 2 HR, 4 BB, 19 SO, 6 R, 6 ER, 1.98 ERA

Ikketsu Sho will be demoted to Ni-gun today after a shaky outing last night (3.1 IP, 4 H, 1 HR, 2 BB, 3 R, 1 ER).  Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi could get the next Thursday start (8/25 vs Yomiuri at Tokyo Dome).

Yomiuri Giants

Jumpei Ono may have lost his start last night (6.1 IP, 5 H, 1 HR, 0 BB, 2 R, 2 ER), but the Giants will likely give him another shot on 8/25 (vs Hanshin).

Yokohama Bay Stars

Managing director Teiji Sato told reporters yesterday that the team had no plans for switching the manager mid-season.

"It isn't as if changing the manager mid-season means the team will improve, so at this point, we aren't thinking about," said Sato.  "Public opinion is public opinion.  That said, we will take what they say seriously."

Team owner Kiyoshi Wakabayashi also spoke to reporters yesterday and said that they were still planning on having Takao Obana return next season.

"Nothing has changed in our plans.  We are still plan on having him return next season," said Wakabayashi.  "We decided to give him 3 years, so it isn't out place to change [our minds now]. ... Doing well, not doing well, yeah, he's not doing well right now. ... The game the other night wasn't good.  I can understand the fans wanting to voice their opinions, but more than that, we have a problem with our pitching and catching.  We need to improve that area."
