Hiroki Kokubo started taking soft toss BP at the Saitozaki training facilities today. He didn't take full cuts, but did swing the bat 50 times. After practice, Kokubo visited Yahoo Dome to give the coaches an update on his rehab. The hope right now is for Kokubo to play in a Ni-gun rehab game on the 25th (after gaining permission from doctors on the 24th) and possibly return to the active roster on the 26th (vs Rakuten at Kleenex Stadium).
Chief trainer Makoto Sasaki told reporters that tests conducted on Ming-Chieh Hsu (take off active roster on the 17th with right flank pain) didn't reveal any serious injuries and that the club didn't expect him to miss that much time.

Yuki Saito was originally supposed to start tomorrow's game against the Orix Buffaloes but his turn was moved up to today because Masaru Takeda isn't feeling well.
